Help on the spot – fundraiser by Esther and John
We, Esther and John, are now in Bodhgaya, India for 5 months. I (John) am a qualified general practitioner and a pediatrician in training. I (Esther), his wife, am an underwater archaeologist, guide and copywriter. We both left our comfortable life in Graz to volunteer for the two organizations SONNE-International and Buddha Education Foundation in India.
We just wanted to do more!
Injustices, poverty and inequality have always been topics that have concerned us. This time we wanted to do a little more than “just” donate and started the long journey to a foreign country with an almost foreign culture.
It is also a privilege for us to get to know the people, country and culture better on site. We know the importance of communication, knowledge sharing and empathy and that’s why we’re here.
That’s why we decided to collect donations for the important projects of SONNE-International in addition to our voluntary work. Specifically, we are currently collecting donations for our first aid courses, educational workshops and the school garden project.
We have been awarded the donation seal of approval since 2006. Your donations to SONNE-International are tax deductible. If you give us your full name and your date of birth, we will forward your annual donation to the tax office. The donations are automatically taken into account in your employee tax assessment.
